As of 2016, the population of Marmaris is 90,200. This number has been increasing since 1960s. The urban and rural population is almost balanced.
During high season (June-July-August) Marmaris hosts 6-7 fold of its population. There are also foreigners, mostly British, Russian and German, who have settled in the town by buying property or through marriage.
