Mediterranean climate is dominant in Marmaris. The summers, from April to late October are warm. The winters are lukewarm and rainy. Although the January and February are cloudy and rainy months, when the weather is clear, the sun warms up the air considerably. We can call December and March as the transition months. The possibility of air being open is 50% in these months. From April and on, the temperature starts increasing. In May the sky is mostly clear or partly cloudy. There are only a few rainy days. The weather is open from June to the end of September. October is usually clear. In November the number of sunny days is more than cloudy and rainy days. [reference]
During the rainy season (October-April), it rains abundantly with lightning and thunders. Sometimes even floods occur.
* In summer time the dry water canals in the town may make no sense. But in winter, these canals are filled with rain water flowing down from the mountains.
