One of the most beautiful and natural beaches of Marmaris is indisputably İncekum. The word 'incekum' means 'fine sand’ in English. The sand of this beach is similar to that of Cleopatra Island. İncekum has a turquoise colored clear sea, and pine trees on the back side. It is not possible get to the head of İncekum Beach with your own car, that's one of the reasons this place has been preserving its natural beauty. In order to get to the beach, you leave your car in the parking lot at the outer gate, and take the remaining 1.5 km of the way on the trailer of a tractor. The tractor has a regular timetable, but it shuttles more frequently when it’s too crowded.

The distance from Marmaris to İncekum is 23 kilometres (30 min). First half of the way is on the main road, and the second half passes through the villages which is a worn out asphalt. Alternatively, you can take ‘Çamlı' public minibuses (dolmush), which depart from Marmaris.

In İncekum; there’s a cafe on the shore. Additionally, there are changing rooms, toilets and showers which fall short in number, even İncekum is not a large beach at all. The prices of some items (as of 2017) at the cafe are: toast 10₺, hamburger 10₺, cold drinks 5₺, beer 13₺... In the mornings it's usually calm, but as people start gathering at noon, queues form in the front of changing rooms and showers. The similar queue also forms for the tractor, on the way back. The prices of the facilities is slightly higher than the average, but we can not say they rip you off. You pay 12₺ for both car parking and tractor trip, and about the same price for sun loungers if you want to hire one. Showers and changing cabins are free of charge. You can bring your food from the outside. There are wooden tables under pine trees, available for picnic. In high season, it is not easy to find a sun lounger, if you come after noon. And if you can’t find a sun lounger, you may have to lay your towel somewhere on the rocks, which is not very comfortable.

In sum, İncekum is one of the 'must-go' beaches in Marmaris, which you can enjoy yourself effortlessly. We just recommend you to go there before noon, or after 5 pm. The beach is open from 8 am to 7 pm.
