ADAKÖY

Updated on: 3rd May, 2017

Adaköy is a quite large neighborhood comprising Paradise (Cennet) Island, national parks and the huge military area of Aksaz Navy Base. The place we are telling you on this page is within the borders of Adaköy, and on the way to Paradise Island. Since this spot is not given a specific name, we shall call it Adaköy too. You rarely see this area in tourist guides, because it's not a place that attracts people's attention at all. More and more amateur fishermen and giggers prefer here. Anyway, we like this place, that's why we are telling you about it. This is a forest just on the seaside and is available for picnic and barbecue. However, there is no flowing fresh water or picnic tables around. You should bring everything with you. There is a marina named ‘Sensimar' very close, and a village 5 minutes (3.7 km) away, in case you need to buy anything. (In and around this village, there are markets, beautiful hotels, pensions, beach restaurants and a sailing club) The reasons why you should visit here are that it is very close to town center, calm and never crowded, interwined with nature, cool and shady. You can make picnic and barbecue, hike in the forest, swim, do snorkelling, gig or hook. Nothing else. You may choose to take a break here on your way to Nimara Cave, or on your way back to Marmaris as well.

This spot is 9 km away from the town center, and 15 minutes by car. Follow the route to Paradise Island, and turn right when you see the "Sensimar Marina" sign. After turning, you can pull over anywhere you want.
